JOHN GALLIANO REWORKS ZARA’S ARCHIVES

John Galliano has entered a two-year partnership with Zara, marking his first major mass-market project since departing Maison Margiela in 2024.
Launching in September 2026, the collaboration will see Galliano reinterpret archival Zara garments through his signature deconstruction technique. By reworking past-season pieces, the designer is set to infuse theatricality and high-fashion drama into a more accessible retail format.
Having previously led creative roles at Givenchy, Dior, and Maison Margiela, Galliano now shifts focus toward a broader, global audience—bridging the gap between couture sensibility and everyday fashion.
In recent years, Zara has strengthened its position against competitors like Uniqlo through strategic collaborations. Past partnerships include Soshiotsuki, Ludovic de Saint Sernin, Samuel Ross of A-COLD-WALL, and Studio Nicholson.
The first John Galliano x Zara collection is scheduled to release in September 2026.
