RIHANNA IS TAKING US TO SCHOOL WITH THE LATEST FENTY X PUMA CREEPER PHATTY ‘IN SESSION’

Rihanna‘s FENTY x PUMA Creeper Phatty just got another makeover. This time Rihanna is school-ready with her latest fashion stunt. The singer and businesswoman fronts the FENTY x PUMA Creeper Phatty In Session campaign, released on Thursday, July 11, to promote the newest iteration of the Creeper Phatty sneaker. Just weeks after the highly anticipated launch of Fenty Hair, the superstar has blessed us with brand-new kicks and a star-studded campaign to match. The Creeper Phatty is bigger, bolder and badder than ever.

Rihanna first teamed up with Puma in 2014 as the brand’s global ambassador and creative director, overseeing the women’s division. The original Puma Creeper, a platform version of Puma’s iconic Suede sneaker, launched in September 2015. After the partnership was dissolved in 2018, Puma announced Rihanna’s return five years later with a new FENTY x PUMA line with the Creeper Phatty, which dropped earlier this year. Following April’s earthy makeovers, the FENTY x PUMA Creeper Phatty In Session is the latest edition of the original Creeper sneaker established by the two brands. This new release retains the classic Creeper Phatty silhouette but introduces fresh colors and materials. Titled ‘In Session,’ this latest drop features the model’s signature oversized construction and stacked gum sole in new “Triple Black” and classic “Red and White” corduroy finishes. Both are wrapped in soft corduroy and suede, and come with luxe gold aglets.

In the words of Rihanna, “Your whole school will be wearing the Creeper Phatty’s and this campaign plays with that vision. We chose these colors and materials very purposefully for back-to-school. The black-on-black corduroy reminds me of my very own childhood, a uniform-approved shoe with the twist I always wish I had.”

The new Creeper Phatty In Session collection features some very notable faces. Rihanna, signed on as the creative director of the campaign, enlisted Philippa Price to shoot the visuals. The campaign showcases a varied cast to represent different characters from the high school universe. Chloe Cherry from Euphoria portrays the school’s emo girl, while Rihanna takes on the role of the good girl and award-winning actress Anjelica Huston plays the principal. Other characters include the theater kid, the popular girl, the nerd and the class pet, each adding flavor and personality to this nostalgic yet fashionable campaign. All of the models, including Rihanna, sport dramatic versions of typical schoolwear pieces, such as oversized dresses, monogrammed suits and statement ties. True to form, the fashion mogul went all out for the ‘In Session’ campaign.
