HBO’S HOUSE OF THE DRAGON TO CONCLUDE WITH SEASON 4
HBO has confirmed that its hit series House of the Dragon will come to an end with Season 4.
The news was announced by showrunner and co-creator Ryan Condal on Monday, during a discussion about the Season 2 finale. Condal also shared that production on Season 3 might begin in early 2025, although the exact episode count is yet to be decided. “I haven’t had discussions with HBO about it,” Condal stated. “I would just anticipate the cadence of the show, from a dramatic storytelling perspective, will continue to be the same from Season 2 on.”
As this Game of Thrones spinoff approaches its conclusion, HBO is already preparing for the premiere of another spinoff series. Titled A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, the new show is set to debut in 2025 and is an adaptation of George R. R. Martin’s novella The Hedge Knight. The official logline reads: “A century before the events of Game of Thrones, two unlikely heroes wandered Westeros… a young, naïve but courageous knight, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his diminutive squire, Egg. Set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne, and the memory of the last dragon has not yet passed from living memory, great destinies, powerful foes, and dangerous exploits all await these improbable and incomparable friends.”
