THE POLAR BEAR LYING ON ICE WON THE NATURE PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR AWARD

The image serves as a poignant reminder of the fragility of the world and the threats of climate change. The Natural History Museum announced the winner of the People’s Choice Nature Photography Award. Over 50,000 entries were submitted to the competition, and the top 25 were placed in the first position.

English photographer Nima Sarikhani’s photograph of a solitary polar bear sleeping on ice made headlines. Sarikhani, who captured this image during a three-day tour of Norway’s Svalbard archipelago, said, ‘The photograph evoked strong emotions in many who saw it. Climate change is one of the greatest challenges of our time, and I hope this photograph brings hope to people. We still have time to make things right.
