RARE 1981 LAMBORGHINI COUNTACH LP 400 S IN TAHITI BLUE LISTED FOR PRIVATE SALE

A rare 1981 Lamborghini Countach LP 400 S, featuring stunning Tahiti Blue paintwork, has surfaced as a private listing on RM Sotheby’s. This Series II, Bertone-built model, chassis number 1121296, is one of just 105 examples produced, making it a highly sought-after collector’s item.

Originally delivered to Switzerland, the Countach has spent its entire life in Europe, meticulously maintained by a series of dedicated owners. It retains its original beige leather upholstery, a testament to its preserved authenticity. The car’s current owner acquired it in 2021 from Jean Guikas, a well-known Lamborghini enthusiast with a storied collection.

In 2022, the Countach underwent extensive mechanical and bodywork restoration by top Italian marque experts, including a complete engine-out overhaul and electrical work. The car was also refinished in a rare Tahiti Blue, a shade seldom seen on Countach models.

The Series II LP 400 S models are distinguished by their smooth-finish wheels and lower suspension setting, characteristics that set them apart from the third-series cars with slightly raised suspension. This particular Countach was built to European specifications and initially featured a red exterior.

Now restored and ready to be driven, this Countach, with just over 3,000 miles on the dash, is poised to attract significant attention. At the time of writing, the vehicle is listed for private sale through RM Sotheby’s for $650,000 USD, with the option to make an offer also available.
