LES BENJAMINS UNVEILS BRED ABU DHABI
The luxury streetwear brand is popping up at the Region’s neo-culture festival this April, with a stand inspired by the freedom and beauty of sailing.
Inspired by the freedom of sailing and its ground-breaking KISMET VOYAGE collection, luxury Istanbul-based streetwear brand Les Benjamins appeared at the much-hyped BRED Abu Dhabi Festival. Now in its second edition, the Region’s neo-culture festival returned to Abu Dhabi from April 24 to 28, and Les Benjamins was there with it.
Bringing its contemporary and luxurious take on Eastern heritage and Western street culture, the Les Benjamins x BRED Abu Dhabi pop-up was inspired by the fluidity of the ocean and freedom of sailing – and the euphoria both brought with them. The stand was painted to transport visitors to the open ocean, taking inspiration from Les Benjamins’ acclaimed KISMET VOYAGE collection. Highlights included a sailing vessel, colourful sky, and horizon, creating a soothing display of rich sea blues and golden sun yellows.
Fully immersive and embodying the Les Benjamins brand, the pop-up display included rails showcasing the brand’s latest pioneering collection, including KISMET VOYAGE. Unveiled in 2023, KISMET VOYAGE took inspiration from the legendary Turkish mariner Sadun Boro’s circumnavigation of the globe from East to West and included a mixture of avant-garde pieces with nautical-inspired details and tailoring, blending futuristic touches with a nostalgic aesthetic.
The space also included changing rooms, displays, and seating areas – all building a Les Benjamins hangout and community amid the creative festival. Visitors could sit back and enjoy a copy and walls of multi-coloured clouds – reminiscent of the capricious skies of the Anatolian peninsula, in sun-soaked lands like Bodrum, Alanya, and Marmaris – not to mention the famous Istanbul sunset. The booth also championed Les Benjamin’s signature colours used throughout its core and collaborative collections, such as white, black, pastel green, sky blue, and sunrise pink.
