FROM PERFORMANCE TO COUTURE: SHA’CARRI RICHARDSON’S SWAROVSKI-SPARKLED NIKE ATELIER LOOK

Nike brings sport, innovation and couture-level craftsmanship together with a custom Nike Atelier look created for track and field star Sha’Carri Richardson. Designed for the Athlos event in London, the one-of-a-kind ensemble brings together Richardson’s disciplined athletic identity with her more experimental and expressive personal style.

At the heart of the look is a custom jacket hand-embellished with Swarovski crystals that catch and reflect the flash. Inspired by the streets of London after the rain, the crystals evoke droplets of water, while the grey and distressed surfaces mirror the city’s urban atmosphere. The look is completed with a rib-knit corset, micro shorts and an oversized jacket defined by sculptural proportions.

Technology is another key element of the design. Developed specifically for Richardson, the FlyWeb Bra replaces traditional knitted or woven construction with a seamless, single-layer design engineered to provide targeted support in different areas. Featuring a 3D-printed grid structure, the bra is layered underneath the rib-knit corset.

For footwear, Nike’s Vomero Premium continues the look, drawing inspiration from Air Zoom technology used in track and field. The silhouette is extended with a crystal-embellished over-the-knee sock, transforming the classic performance aesthetic into something more theatrical and fashion-forward.

With this Nike Atelier creation for Richardson, Nike reinterprets its technical performance heritage through personal expression and couture-level craftsmanship, presenting the athlete not simply as a competitor, but as a creative figure with her own style and story. Richardson herself described the look as something that gives her the feeling of “armor.”
