DIOR FALL 2025 BY MARIA GRAZIA CHIURI: A CONTEMPORARY VISION INSPIRED BY JAPANESE ELEGANCE
For the Fall 2025 collection, Dior’s Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri presents a timeless narrative interwoven with cultural heritage. Drawing inspiration from traditional Japanese garments, the collection pays tribute to the iconic kimono jacket while embracing a modern silhouette through powerful tailoring and precious materials.
Referencing Monsieur Dior’s Diorcoat from the Autumn-Winter 1957 collection—designed to be worn over a kimono—Chiuri explores how fashion can serve as a cultural bridge. Her designs echo the spellbinding characters of Japanese theater and reflect on Marc Bohan’s historic 1971 Tokyo presentation for Dior.
A key emotional cornerstone of the collection stems from Chiuri’s visit to the Kyoto exhibition “Love Fashion: In Search of Myself.” Through this lens, the garments delve into themes of body, identity, and desire, offering a poetic expression of fashion’s emotional power.
From flowing wide-leg trousers to belted coats adorned with golden embroidery, and silk fabrics embellished with Japanese garden sketches, Dior Fall 2025 becomes an ode to metamorphosis, memory, and refined beauty.
